EarthQuaker Devices unveils Transmisser Resonant Reverberator
The Transmisser is a modulated reverb with extra-long decay fed to a highly resonant filter. It is the sonic recreation of blowing your signal to bits, shooting it through a black hole then beaming it back down on a cloud of cosmic dust. It is a Blazar for musical instruments.
If you can’t already tell, the Transmisser is not your every-day reverberation device. It does not do subtle. It does not do spring. It does not do a wood paneled rumpus room with 1” thick carpet. It will not recreate the classic sounds of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. The Transmisser will create an ultimate soundscape-y backdrop to your all-night guitar freak-out. It’ll quickly turn you into a one note per minute knob twiddler. It’ll make you want to break out that dusty old expression pedal to do slow riding filter sweeps for days. It’ll get you out of that stupid ergonomic chair, close that flaptop computer and force you to enjoy playing music again and that’s the most important thing, am I right? Huh? Am I? Hello?
So how does it do what it does? The three controls across the top labeled Decay, Darkness and Freq affect the character of the reverberated signal. Decay controls the length of the reverb tail. Set it for one second or eternity depending on your mood. Darkness controls the overtones in the reverb tails. You can choose bright and shimmery or dark and dusty, your call dude. Freq controls the frequency of the resonant low pass filter. The filter is set just on the verge of oscillation and is really the heart of what makes the Transmisser the Transmisser. Even a subtle nudge of this control can take it from ethereal howl to a shimmery scream. This control can also be put under the spell of an expression control located on the Eastern side of the device. We recommend using a Moog expression pedal for optimal comfort and usability. The use of an expression pedal to control the filter can cause time to disappear, don’t say we didn’t warn you.
The three controls across the bottom labeled Warp, Rate and Mix affect how the entire reverb processor behaves. Rate is hardwired for the optimum depth and controls the speed of the system-wide modulation in a narrow range that creates a sound far more unique than a simple modulated reverb. Not only does it modulate the reverberated signal, it also modulates the Freq and Darkness within a small range that is dependent on where the Warp control is set. Slower warble to supersonic ripples can be achieved by simply turning this tiny tonal teaser. Warp is a total system slew control. As you turn this control counter clockwise; the filter becomes deeper and more resonant, the decay becomes longer and warmer, the modulation grows wider and the whole system becomes more mellow and more chill. It’s like pulling back the cape of a wise old wizard and discovering that the wizard is, in fact, wearing shorts and just wants to take it easy. Mix? Well, the mix controls how much awesome you want to blend with your boring old dry signal. It can go from nothing to probably way too much for you to handle.
The Transmisser has a fully analog dry signal path, fully digital reverberation path and electronic relay based true-bypass switching. Each Transmisser is populated by robots and assembled by glassy eyed human beans in a bunker buried 12 leagues under the sonic astronomy appreciation society of Akron, OH.

MXR Phase 95 available for pre-order
Chicago Music Exchange has apparently put up the yet-to-be-announced MXR M-290 Phase 95 up for pre-order. The Phase 95 is a Mooer-sized pedal that allows you to switch between the 45 and 90 style-phasing, as well as between "block" and "script" styles.
The Phase 95 combines the Phase 45 and Phase 90 circuits in a mini housing with about half the footprint of a standard MXR pedal. The 45/90 switch toggles between the Phase 45 mode’s subtle two-stage phasing and the Phase 90 mode’s more pronounced four-stage phasing, while the “Script” switch toggles between two phasing styles. The Phase 95 is set to modern style phasing by default, which relies on feedback to create light harmonic distortion and gives the effect a more accentuated swoosh. Engaging the Script switch removes feedback for a lusher, more subdued sound with higher headroom and greater clarity. The familiar Speed control sets the rate of the effect.
• Combines MXR’s most iconic phase circuits in a single mini housing
• About half the footprint of a standard MXR pedal
• 45/90 switch toggles between Phase 45 and Phase 90 circuits
• Script removes feedback for a subtler vintage sound

Pigtronix Echolution 2 Filter Pro Delay - MF Stupid Deal
Musician's Friend has a daily deal going for the Pigtronix Echolution 2 Filter Pro delay. At $209, it's a discount of $120 off the usual price for this feature-rich delay.
The Echolution 2 Filter PRO is way more than a delay. This massively flexible multi-tap stereo modulation delay features an entire array of customizable filter, LFO and pitch shifting options along with expression pedal and envelope control of every knob as well as complete MIDI control of every function. 60 user definable presets provide easy access to an unprecedented variety of tap tempo dual delay, synchronized LFO modulation, pitch shifting, bit crushing and moving filter effects. A free, in-depth editor for PC and MAC allows musicians to dig even deeper to customize the behavior and sound of this one of a kind sound design machine.
Pigtronix Echolution 2 combines state-of-the-art analog and digital processing designed to deliver the ultimate delay pedal experience. Echolution 2 achieves the ambient richness of the finest studio delay processors by using 100% analog Class-A, discrete transistor limiters as well as non-linear tape emulator stages and filters to massage the audio coming through the delay line. Fully capable of handling instrument and line level sound sources, the Echolution 2 delivers low-noise, high-headroom delay processing with any rig. Echolution 2 features stereo inputs and outputs, sporting an all analog dry signal path along with extensive analog tone shaping and filtering before and after delay line. Rather than try to mimic the sound of analog delays, the Echolution 2 uses real analog filters and non-linear saturation stages to achieve its signature warmth and dynamic range.
Echolution 2 uses a 24-bit, variable clock, multi-tap delay line that is coded to behave like a futuristic tape machine. Changing the delay time results in the smooth pitch bending of an analog delay system but with a Pigtronix twist that allows drastic delay time changes to create discreet musical intervals. The resulting echoes are then processed through an array of filters and special effects which can be manipulated via assignable expression pedal routing as well as envelope control for each knob.
Accessing and navigating the vast palette of sounds available within the Echolution 2 is easy. Since the pedal is completely programmable, any sound that has been designed using the Echolution 2 Filter PRO or Echolution 2 Ultro PRO pedal can be saved to the unit itself and exported for sharing with friends and other musicians. A dedicated PC/MAC application handles preset management as well as firmware upgrades and also provides Echolution 2 users with real time access to the sounds and advanced editing functionality of the Echolution 2 Ultra PRO
The multi-tap capabilities of the Echolution 2 allow for the use of one or two discreet delays which can be assigned to musical subdivisions of the master delay time. Multi-tap selections include 1, 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, and PHI (the golden ratio). One or any combination of two taps can be selected, allowing for instant access to all of the most crucial musical echo patterns as well as a wide range of unconventional polyrhythms.
The LFO modulation section of the Echolution 2 features true sample rate modulation where both the read and write heads of the delay line are affected by one of four different LFO waveforms (Sine, Square, Saw or Sample and Hold). Each of these LFO waveforms can also be quantized with a STEP mode and will run freely or sync to either tap tempo and MIDI with a variable speed ratio from 1:8 to 8:1.
The Echolution 2 sports four seperate filters (Low Pass, Tape, Comb and Sweep). Each of the first three modes can be combined with the SWEEP filter which is modulated by the LFO as described above. Any of these filter settings can then be run through a unique Pigtronix BIT CRUSHER destruction filter within the delay line as well. The delay line can also be turned off, to allow for the advanced modulation, pitch shifting and filter capabilities to be used as stand-alone effects.
Every knob on the Echolution 2 can be mapped to the expression pedal. Using the included software, multiple functions can be mapped to expression with adjustable range for each parameter. Additionally, an envelope follower within the pedal can also be mapped to any parameter, with user definable sensitivity and release time for each function.
Advanced features such as Reverse, Ducking, Trails, Listen and Ping Pong modes are augmented by a unique Halo “Shimmer” function which causes the echoes to rise in octaves on each repeat. The externally triggered Freeze function allows you to loop the content of the delay line and an all new footswitch activated “Jump” function sends your echoes cascading up by any desired musical interval within an a when desired. The TRS remote switch accessory pedal for the Echolution 2 provides Jump and Freeze functions as well as instant access to four favorite presets in each bank.
Echolution 2 supports up to 60 custom presets contained in 6 banks of 10, all of which can be edited in real time via the front panel and saved to the machine. Hands free Preset selection is accomplished by holding down the onboard TAP switch, using an external remote footswitch or via MIDI preset change command. The included PC/MAC application allows even deeper real time editing as well as the ability to import artist presets and share your own custom presets online.
MIDI IN provides instant preset change, Tap Tempo and LFO synchronization with an external source as well as remote control over every function of the Echolution 2. MIDI OUT allows for tap tempo control over the Pigtronix Infinity Looper and other MIDI capable devices. The USB port on the Echolution 2 provides connectivity to MAC or PC computers, allowing you to run the free Echolution 2 application for preset management and real-time tweaking of advanced parameters.
GC Daily Pick - Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock
Guitar Center has a daily deal going for the Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock, a "Compressor & Sustainer with Germanium Distortion." It's on sale for $69.95, about $66 off its usual price.
The Philosophers Rock features Pigtronix’s unique optical circuit that provides transparent compression with endless clean sustain. This all analog, state-of-the-art dynamics processor is further augmented by a harmonic germanium distortion that can be added via toggle switch for even more over-the-top tones that will instantly melt faces when engaged. Many top slide guitarists have gravitated towards the Philosopher’s Rock due to its distortion characteristics being remarkably similar to the “tube rectifier sag” of a small amp being mercilessly overloaded.
Although the Philosopher’s Rock has fewer controls than its more knobby siblings, it actually sports a 4 times wider range of compression tones on tap. This allows the Philosopher’s Rock to be used as a more subtle, clean compressor as well as a super squashy sustain machine when maxed out. The Philosopher’s Rock can be used to tame peaks in your signal as well as to create natural acoustic feedback with or without distortion. Super low noise performance allows the Philosopher’s Rock to be effective in front of a dirty amp or combined with high gain distortion and fuzz pedals for crafting your personal wall of sound.
The Treble and Blend functions from the original Philosopher’s Tone have been preset to the “sweet spot” for hassle free operation on stage or in the studio. The Philosopher’s Rock features true bypass switching and runs fine on standard 9-volt (negative tip) power but ships with an 18-volt adapter for superior headroom, clarity and overall output.
MF Stupid Deal - Pigtronix Class A Boost
Musician's Friend has a daily deal going for the Pigtronix Class A Boost. The pedal is on sale for $49, which is $80 off its usual price.
The Pigtronix Class A Boost will fatten up and boost anything you feed it. Our deceptively simple design uses discreet transistors in a single-ended “Class A” configuration to achieve the warmest possible tone. This remarkable preamp can deliver up to 20db of clean boost and remains effective with both instrument and line level signals.
Superior signal to noise performance allows you to put the Class A Boost anywhere in your pedal chain. It can add punch and extra output to a classic overdrive sound and is able to push distortion pedals into extremely aggressive crunch land. Class A Boost is also ideal for hitting the front end of a tube amp to achieve an added layer of sweetness and fat tone.
This pedal runs fine on 9 volts but ships with an 18 volt adapter for superior headroom and maximum punch. Make your sound 1 louder with this handsomely dressed, J-FET masterpiece from Pigtronix.
OBNE Mondegreen Delay unveiled at Summer NAMM 2016
Old Blood Noise Endeavors' newest pedal, the Mondegreen, has been unveiled at Summer NAMM. A delay pedal, it features three different modes - "Stutter", which adds a tremolo, "World", which adds a chorus effect, and "Sheer", which features increasing octaves. Reverb has a video of the new pedal below:
Converse unveils sneaker with built-in wah pedal
Converse has announced the Chuck Taylor All Wah, a sneaker with a built-in wah pedal. It works by using micro-sensors that tracks the flex of the sole and communicates wirelessly to a wah box using bluetooth. Watch a video of the sneaker below featuring J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.
DigiTech unveils DOD Carcosa Fuzz
The DOD Carcosa Fuzz is a doorway into an alternate fuzz universe, where classic tones of legend coexist with splattered and shattered Pollack abstractions. Combining the Carcosa's wide-ranging AFTER bias control with two toggle positions creates tones that range from porcine fatness to dessicated shards. This versatility makes the Carcosa Fuzz a good companion for dirty or clean amps. True bypass, tons of output, and the visage of the King in Yellow sets the stage for fuzzy madness.More info and audio samples are available at DigiTech's website.
The DOD Carcosa Fuzz has an exaggerated mid-range and treble character that help it stand out in a mix. It has been designed to cut through a dense and heavy band but still have great note articulation with chords. However, when extreme bias (AFTER) ranges are selected many wild and over-the-top sounds are possible.
DigiTech unveils Nautila chorus and flanger
Sing a song of stormy oceans and float upon the calming seas with the Nautila Chorus/Flanger. Create never before heard tidal swirls or soothing rhythmic waves with the Voice and Drift controls. These controls allow you to add up to eight chorus or four flanger voices and then blend and morph the waveforms in real-time with the Drift knob. Alter the modulation speed in real-time by holding down the momentary footswitch and then release to continue on your voyage through the currents.More info is available on DigiTech's official website.
Separate Speed, Depth, Emphasis, Voices and Mix controls shape your waves into clean curls or soupy foam. True Bypass, stereo inputs and outputs, silent switching, and rugged construction, make the Nautila as practical as it is creative.
The Nautila uses a 9VDC power supply to easily integrate into your existing pedalboard.
Boss announces Waza Craft CE-2W Chorus
Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus effect pedal, but also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since. Four decades on, the spacious modulated tone of the signature BOSS effect is still loved by musicians everywhere. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were.
- Special edition Waza Craft pedal delivers the ultimate BOSS tone experience
- Standard mode provides a perfect reproduction of the legendary CE-2 sound
- CE-1 mode features chorus and vibrato, authentically reproducing the two stereo sound modes in the world’s first chorus pedal
- Includes new sounds not available in the original pedals, including CE-2 stereo output and variable depth for CE-1 chorus sounds
- Rate and Depth knobs provide fine sound adjustment in both pedal modes
- Premium all-analog circuitry with bucket-brigade (BBD) delay line
- Made in Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS effects

Clouds Hill Echo, the world's first floppy disk delay pedal
Clouds Hill, a German record label, recording studio and management company, is creating The Echo, the world's first delay pedal driven by a 3.5" floppy disc. There will be only 30 pedals made in the initial run, and each will sell for 1,999 euro - roughly $2,252 USD. In the product video's comments, Clouds Hill also suggested that more will be made in the future at a lower price, "we are trying to make 031-100 around 1.2k ... but it´ll take a while ..." Pre-orders for the pedal start on May 1st. More information is available in the video below or at the Clouds Hill Effects website.
TC Electronic teases upcoming new pedal
TC Electronic has posted a new video teasing a new upcoming pedal, which will be revealed one week from today on May 2nd. The video reveals that the pedal has four knobs, one of which is a Dry knob, and the music hints at shimmers, delays and a reverse reverb. Popular guesses on what TC Electronic's new pedal is include a pitch shifter or octaver, a new version of the Hall of Fame that includes a shimmer reverb, and a combination delay and reverb pedal.
Mooer unveils Ocean Machine delay and reverb pedal
Mooer has revealed the Ocean Machine, a signature pedal for Devin Townsend. The Ocean Machine features two delays, a reverb and a looper, which can be arranged in any order. The first delay (Delay A) features digital, echo, galaxy, rotary, tri-mod, liquid, tremolo, reverse and mod-inverse, while Delay B features digital, real, analog, tape, mod, lo-fi, tube, dyna and filler. The reverb section features room, hall, plate, phaser-verb, flanger-verb, filter, reverse, spring and mod, as well as a separate shimmer control knob. Lastly, the looper can play back at half-speed or in reverse. The Ocean Machine has stereo ins and outs, expression pedal control and is MIDI compatible.
The final product is still being tweaked and its price isn't determined yet, but according to a tweet from Devin Townsend, it should go for around $250.

BOSS introduces TU-3W and TU-3S tuner pedals
BOSS is adding two new stompbox tuners to their lineup - the TU-3W and the TU-3S.
The BOSS TU-3W is the "Waza Craft" version of their popular TU-3 tuner pedal. Other than offering the option to choose either true or buffered bypass, it doesn't seem to add anything new to the mix.
The BOSS TU-3S is also based on TU-3, but comes as a smaller-sized always-on pedal. It might be of interest for players who use a loop switcher or a volume pedal with a tuner-out jack.
New DigiTech pedal - Dirty Robot
The Dirty Robot is a unique synthesizer emulation pedal for guitar and bass. Two different synth voices are at your disposal for creating wild sound textures using a standard guitar or bass without the need for any special pickup. V1 gives you warm analog synthesis with subtle to extreme envelope sweeps just like classic synths from the undefined’s and 80s. V2 provides a vocal formant synthesis effect that can be used for vocoder emulation or talk box style effects. Using the Dirty Robot’s exclusive 360 degrees Drift knob, you can blend between Square, Octave, and Sub synthesis soundscapes. The built-in chorus and vibrato effects give Dirty Robot unparalleled versatility and make having one the next best thing to putting an actual guitar synth on your pedalboard.
The Dirty Robot’s effects are complimented by stereo ¼” inputs and outputs for routing flexibility, constant high voltage rails, a bi-color status LED indicator and true bypass circuitry. With its compact size, vacuum-style footswitch and striking graphics the Dirty Robot furthers DigiTech’s evolution in pedal design.
The Dirty Robot uses a 9VDC power supply to easily integrate into your existing pedalboard.

Mooer Twin Series Pedals offer on Massdrop
Massdrop currently has a "drop" going for the Mooer Twin Series pedals. If you're unfamiliar with Massdrop, it works similar to Groupon - Massdrop offers a product at a discounted price, but only if enough people commit to buy it. In this case, they're offering Mooer's Twin Series pedals at $104.99 if it can get 3 buyers, and the price lowers to $94.99 if there are 5 buyers. Mooer's two newest pedals, the Reverie Chorus and Reverie Reverb, are pretty good deals as the only stores that are currently carrying them have them at $168.
The Massdrop offer is located at this link, but you need to join the site in order to see it. You'll have until March 13th to get in on the offer.
Below are Mike Hermans's of the Reverie Chorus and Reverie Reverb. The Reverb is particularly interesting as it offers five base reverbs (room/hall, plate, shimmer, octave, mod) and then allows you to add your choice of effects (wah, low-pass, flanger, tremolo, water) on top of it, which should allow for some interesting creations.
Donnerdeal birthday sale
Donnerdeal is celebrating their 4th year in business and you can get 20% off pedal orders over $30 with the code 310TYTGY# (expires March 12)
The only two pedals currently under $30 at Donnerdeal are the Giant Metal (Metal Muff clone) and the tuner, so most orders should hit that $30 mark easily.
Additionally, the first ten orders on March 10th will also get a free Donner Ultimate Comp compressor pedal. In related news, Donner apparently has a new compressor pedal called the Ultimate Comp.

PGS demo of Earthquaker Devices Spires
Pro Guitar Shop has a nice demo of Earthquaker's new dual fuzz pedal, the Spires. It's expected to hit stores soon with a price tag of $195.
Guitar Center Daily Pick - Vox ToneLab ST
Guitar Center has a daily deal on the Vox ToneLab ST multi effects pedal. This pedal is interesting in that it uses a 12AX7 vacuum tube, whereas most multi effects units generally rely on digital technology. It's on sale for $99.99, half off its usual price.

Behringer pedals clone list
Behringer is a German company, although its products are made in China. They are known mostly for their Boss pedal clones - even the enclosures are of a similar design. Behringer pedals can be risky to deal with, as there are complaints with quality control, sound and tone suckage. The plastic enclosures are also usually bought up as a concern, though reports of the plastic body actually breaking aren't very common.

Musician's Friend's Stupid Deal of the Day is the TC Electronic Arena, a reverb pedal. It's on sale for $99.99, about $50 lower than what you'd usually find it at. The pedal is basically the same as the popular Hall of Fame reverb, but with the Lo-Fi, Tile, Ambient and Gate settings replaced by four settings named Royal, Parliament, Season and Passage.

Retailer Sweetwater has an extensive demo video of the new TC Electronic pedals. They include the feature-rich Ditto X4 looper, the Spectra Comp bass compressor and the Bona Fide Buffer - a buffer that automatically switches to true bypass when its power source is cut.
Demo of new Catalinbread Bicycle and CSIDMAN delay pedals from NAMM
Reverb.com has a demo of two new delay pedals from Catalinbread - the Bicycle and the CSIDMAN, along with the already released Adineko oil can delay. The Bicycle seems to be a pitch-shifting delay, while the CSIDMAN features a "skipping" delay sound inspired by CD players.

Chase Bliss Audio unveils the Tonal Recall analog delay
Come play it at NAMM booth #1276!!
Introducing...
Tonal Recall: Analog Delay
Price: $399. Release Date: May 30th, 2016.
Features Overview:
*100% analog signal path, full digital control of parameters. No digital conversion or processing.
*2 onboard save-able presets + live mode for 3 distinct settings (expandable to 122 with a midi controller).
*Tap Tempo / Hold for setting delay time via tap. Holding the switch gives runaway oscillation. 6 delay subdivisions including dotted eighth note.
*True bypass or buffered bypass with trails.
*2 Xvive MN3005 delay chips.
*SLB (short, long, both) selects between 1 MN3005 (i.e. DM2), 2 MN3005 (i.e DMM), and both for a multi-tap mixed output of the two for more of a washed out / reverby sound.
*Circuit is tuned for 550ms max delay time (longer delays are possible via trimmer adjustment, but compromises tap tempo accuracy and optimal clock filtering).
*Sine, triangle, and square wave modulation with independent rate and depth controls. At max depth, madness ensues.
*Full midi implementation to control presets and parameters.
*Expression / CV control over any parameter individually or simultaneously.
*Ramping over any parameter individually or simultaneously.
*Tone control for full range of clear or dark repeats.
*Mix Control goes 100% dry to 100% wet. On "short" delay setting, pedal can be used as a vibrato or chorus.
*Internal trimmer for max regeneration. Pedal ships with self-oscillation abilities, with the potential to get wilder.
