Earthquaker officially unveils Data Corrupter Modulated Monophonic PLL Harmonizer

"Officially", because it was accidentally made available to order and had already shipped to at least one customer.

The Data Corrupter is a monophonic analog PLL harmonizer with modulation. It takes your input signal and brutally amplifies it into a crushing square wave fuzz tone that is then multiplied, divided and modulated to create a wild, yet repeatable, three-voice guitar synthesizer.

The Master Oscillator is the central nervous system at the heart of the Data Corrupter’s cyberpunk hive mind. It feeds your input to the Data Corrupter’s signal harvester in its original octave (Unison), one octave down (-1) or two octaves down (-2) for maximum compatibility with your preferred instrument and frequency register. Once you’ve chosen your input octave, then the Data Corrupter will perform its calculations and spit out an analog synthesized frequency, which can be pitch-bent for portamento or vibrato sounds by the Frequency Modulator! From there, you can blend in one of eight Subharmonic intervals up to three octaves below the input and mix in a square wave fuzz tone for maximum data corruption.

Each and every Data Corrupter is built one-at-a-time by a team of ensigns aboard the Starship Enterprise locked in orbit around the Borg Cube of Akron, Ohio, USA. Make it so. Engage.

The Data Corrupter is available now at a price of $225. For more information, visit the official Earthquaker Devices page. Below is the official product video, and additional demos are available from Pro Guitar Shop, Reverb and Pedals and Effects.

EHX brings back the Green Russian Big Muff

Back by overwhelming demand... in a mini package! The cult classic Green Russian Big Muff first shook the ground in the mid-1990s. Since then it has been heralded by guitarists and bassists for its devastating low-end and unique sludge and sizzle. The Green Russian Big Muff creates a huge tone that is all its own, but is undeniably Big Muff.

The official product page is here, and the pedal is expected to start shipping next week with a street price of $80.60.

Prymaxe 8th Anniversary Sale

EHX unveils the Hot Wax dual overdrive

It's basically the Hot Tubes and the Crayon together in one pedal. More info here.

Electro-Harmonix unveils the new Hot Wax pedal which combines the Crayon full-range overdrive and the Hot Tubes, a reissue of the classic 1970s CMOS overdrive. Each pedal can be used individually or they can be stacked with the Crayon driving the Hot Tubes to create new tones and textures.

Independent Volume and Drive controls are included for both overdrives as are dedicated pop-free footswitches and effect status LEDs. A master EQ section featuring Bass and Treble, plus a Blend control which lets the player mix in their dry signal, provide superior tonal control and flexibility making the Hot Wax ideal for guitar and bass.

DigiTech Boneshaker on sale again

This makes it the third time it's been on sale in recent months. You can cop it for $39.99 over at Harman. The sale ends on August 20th, after which you'll presumably have to wait two weeks before it goes back on sale again.

MF Stupid Deal - Rockett Pedals Mark Sampson Hightop

Musician's Friend has a deal today for the J Rockett Mark Sampson Hightop. It's on sale for $109, a massive $160 discount off its regular price.

The Mark Sampson-designed Hightop is everything "Mark Sampson" in a box. Mark is known for his recreations of the classic AC30/Top Boost tones. This pedal is about the best you can get if those chimey Beatles-type tones float your boat. Play the Hightop for 10 minutes and then turn it off and you will wonder who put the blanket over your amp.

There is an actual "Top Boost" circuit to reduce the transistors so flat for the EQ by shifting both bass and treble all the way left. The cut control contours your highs and the interactive combination of all three EQ controls allows you to dial in your mids. Ceramic/Alnico gives you the best option for your choice of speaker. Alnico speakers have a certain breakup characteristic so if you want to emulate that select alnico. Same goes for the ceramic speaker setting. Bring in the EF86 and dial it to your liking as well.

Earthquaker Day - 15% off pedals

It's the second annual EarthQuaker Day, which means all Earthquaker Devices pedals will be 15% off at (probably) all their dealers, including Sweetwater, Guitar Center, Musician's Friend, PGS and Prymaxe.

Donnerdeal Back to School sale

Donnerdeal is having a back to school sale, because that's exactly the type of sale one would hold in the middle of summer. Many of the items are between 10% to 20% off, but the standouts are the their pedalboards, the largest of which is 20" x 12" and comes with velcro and a carrying bag for $60, and the new isolated power supplies, which come in a $78 version as well as a $88 version. Both have eight outputs (six 9V, one 12V and one 18V), but the more expensive model allows you to switch the higher voltage outputs down to 9V, and has two 9V outputs that can be sagged down to 4V using a knob.

Additionally, you can also save $5 on orders over $80 with the code CR2NAYMGQHE0, $12 off orders over $100 with code 0543619WCA9M or $20 off orders over $150 with code Q02PKZ6PG3V6

Last and certainly least, you'll also receive a free gift of either a guitar pick, a guitar pick necklace or a 15cm guitar cable on all orders over $40

The sale ends on August 22, so you've got quite some time before it ends.
